Equifax I-9 HQ is the incumbent: low per-form fees for employers who complete Section 2 themselves, and a large in-person verification network. i9 Intelligence is a specialist with published tiers, E-Verify and unlimited users included, and its own US-based team for remote Section 2. The better fit mostly comes down to how you handle Section 2.
i9 Intelligence
- Many hires are remote or spread across sites, and you want our own trained team to complete Section 2 by video.
- You want users, locations, and E-Verify included in one monthly price tied to how many people you hire.
- You run Workday or SAP SuccessFactors and want I-9 accuracy checks and remote Section 2 alongside it.
- You want a specialist team that knows your account and answers the phone.
Equifax I-9 HQ
- You need in-person Section 2 at a large retail network of locations.
- You want immigration case management from the same vendor (LawLogix).
- You complete almost every Section 2 in-house at modest volume and want the lowest per-form cost.
Side by side
Equifax's details come from its public website and pricing, checked August 8, 2026.
Prices exclude taxes. Our column reflects i9 Intelligence published pricing on the same date.
Pricing: how the two models differ
Equifax charges a monthly plan fee plus a per-form fee: $7.95 for each I-9 your team completes, or $84.95 when its network completes Section 2. HRIS integration and SSO sit on a custom Enterprise tier.
i9 Intelligence charges one monthly price set by how many I-9s you complete in a year, starting at $50/month for up to 50. Every plan includes unlimited users, unlimited locations, and E-Verify. An authorized representative you choose can complete Section 2 at no extra cost; when our team does it by video, it's $50–$55 per verification.
In practice: employers who send many hires through a managed remote Section 2 service usually pay less with us. Employers who complete nearly every Section 2 themselves at modest volume may pay less with Equifax.
Remote Section 2: who actually does it
Both vendors can complete Section 2 for hires you can't meet in person. The difference is who shows up. Equifax's virtual option uses third-party representatives. Ours is our own US-based team, working inside our app, so the person on the video call is trained on our process and accountable to us.
One rule applies to both: DHS allows remote document examination by live video only for employers enrolled in E-Verify and in good standing at that hiring site (USCIS). If you aren't enrolled, we can enroll you and run E-Verify as your employer agent at no extra cost.
Specialist or suite
Equifax sells I-9 alongside income verification, tax, and other employment-data products. That breadth helps if you want one vendor for all of it. We only do Form I-9 and E-Verify, and have since 1998, so the team answering your question is the team that built the workflow.
Where Equifax is stronger
Every comparison we publish includes this. If one of these matters most to you, Equifax may be the better fit.
- Scale and brand. A large enterprise vendor procurement teams already know.
- In-person network. If you need a physical location near every hire, their network is larger than anything a specialist offers.
- Immigration case management. LawLogix gives you visa and case tools from the same vendor.
- Low per-form cost in-house. At modest volume with your own staff completing Section 2, their per-form model can cost less.
