Two I-9 specialists, built differently

WorkBright started with new-hire paperwork, and its platform covers the I-9 and E-Verify alongside more than 200 state and federal forms, wage notices, labor law posters, and credential tracking. That breadth is useful if you want one system for all new-hire paperwork. We've done only the Form I-9 and E-Verify since 1998, so our screens show what an I-9 needs and nothing else. Buyers who've looked at both tell us that's the first thing they notice, because WorkBright's admin side shows more than they need when the I-9 is the job.

What your new hires see

WorkBright's own support page walks new hires through it. They get a welcome email from their employer with a temporary password, sign in, set their own password, and then see their list of forms. On i9 Intelligence a new hire opens a link from a text or email, enters a one-time code, and starts Section 1 on their phone in English or Spanish, with errors flagged as they type. There's no account to create, so there's no password to forget and no locked-out new hire calling HR on day one.

Who answers the hard questions

The questions behind most I-9 violations are about documents and rules. A TPS holder whose country's designation was terminated or extended this year, an asylee presenting a Form I-94, a work permit under an automatic extension, a receipt, or an expiring document that has to be reverified on Supplement B all need someone who knows the rules. Calls to us go to the I-9 compliance team, who have handled exactly these cases for 28 years, and we've helped employers through ICE audits since 1998.

Remote Section 2

Both companies support remote hires. WorkBright confirms an authorized representative is with the new hire using geo-validation, supports the DHS alternative procedure, and sells WorkBright+, which pairs AI agents with compliance experts to run the I-9 process for you. On i9 Intelligence a trained person on our US-based compliance team examines the documents over live video and signs Section 2, or a manager or representative you choose does it at no extra cost. Live-video review only works for employers enrolled in E-Verify and in good standing (USCIS), and we can enroll you and act as your E-Verify employer agent if you aren't enrolled yet.

Pricing

WorkBright quotes its software after a demo, and its full-service WorkBright+ is $25 per I-9 with a $25,000 annual minimum, so an employer hiring 400 people a year still pays for 1,000. We publish one monthly price based on how many I-9s you complete in a year, with unlimited users, locations, E-Verify accounts, and API access included, and no seat, location, or storage fees. Small and mid-sized employers who compared the two tell us we're very affordable by comparison.

Where WorkBright is stronger

Every comparison we publish includes this. If one of these matters most to you, WorkBright may be the better fit.

  • Broader new-hire paperwork, with state tax forms, wage notices, labor law posters, and credential tracking in the same system.
  • A published full-service price for employers hiring 1,000 or more a year, $25 per I-9 for WorkBright+.
  • Strong review ratings across a large base of reviews on the major software review sites.
